JCP&L Completes Circuit Upgrades in Morristown, Township
Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has completed upgrades on circuits serving the Mine Hill, Morristown, Morris Township, Parsippany, and Randolph areas of Morris County.
JCP&L replaced wire, installed additional lightning arrestors and fuses and devices that separate wires and protect lines from overloading to limit the frequency and duration of power outages.
“Circuit upgrades are a result of the planning and analysis we do each year,” said JCP&L President, Don Lynch. “The planned projects serve to reinforce the distribution network serving our customers.”
Earlier this year, JCP&L announced it would invest $200 million in 2012 to improve service reliability and help meet increasing demand for electricity. Since 2001, JCP&L has invested more than $1.6 billion in capital improvements to its distribution network.
