The Morris County Sheriff's Office has again been designated as a toy collection site by the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.

The Sheriff's Office will be collecting toys for children of any age until Dec. 10, said Detective Sergeant Gerald Pennino of the Sheriff's Office.

Only new and unwrapped toys can be accepted.

The toys may be placed in one of the Toys for Tots collection boxes located in several county government buildings, including the Sheriff's Main Office in the Morris County Courthouse on Washington Street in Morristown; the lobby of the Morris County Administration and Records Building on Court Street in Morristown; the Morris County Library on East Hanover Avenue in Whippany; and Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen's Office at 30 Schuyler Place in Morristown.

The goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that someone cares, Pennino said. The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program works closely with area social welfare, community agencies and church groups to identify the children who will benefit most from receiving the toys, Pennino said.
