TD Charitable Foundation Supports MPAC Enrichment Program at Morristown's Neighborhood House

$5,000 grant helps to bring a free arts education program to children of need

(Morristown, NJ) - TD Bank, through its TD Charitable Foundation, has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown as part of the bank's commitment to giving back to the community.

The grant will go toward MPAC's Neighborhood House After-School Enrichment Program. This program provides students from underserved communities an introduction to the basic skills and discipline of musical theatre through singing, dancing and acting.  Professional theatre teaching artists will work closely with students in grades K-2 on a weekly basis over a 16-week period to give them a comprehensive musical theatre experience. While reinforcing cooperation and a collaborative creative process, the main goal for the program is to give the students confidence, sharpen their focus and concentration and help them to work as an ensemble.

"Support from corporations such as TD Bank and the TD Bank Charitable Foundation will allow children from families living in underserved communities the opportunity to partake in a high-caliber arts program that addresses the essential arts requirement for early childhood education," said Allison Larena, President and CEO, Mayo Performing Arts Center. We thank TD Bank for its support of our mission."

"TD Bank and the TD Charitable Foundation are pleased to support this important education initiative. We believe that organizations such as Mayo Performing Arts Center and Neighborhood House play a significant role in sustaining vibrant and thriving communities," said Joseph Nalbach, regional vice president.
