A Late, Late Week in Review

Better "late" than never, right? Right.

It's nearly the next week, but here is a look back at the last week. Don't worry, no matter when we present "Week in Review," if you missed the story the first time, it's new to you!

On Monday, we wrote about 23 South, located at, you guessed it, 23 South St. Opening recently in the former Scotti's Music Shoppes, 23 South specializes in women's accessories like handbags, jewelry and other items for all including candles.

Also on Monday, the Board of Education held a special public meeting to get input on whether the Morris School District should move school elections from April to November. Click here to see what those who came out said they would prefer.

On Tuesday, a Morris County Freeholder bombshell came down, when it was deemed the decision by a judge who threw out the primary victory for Hank Lyon was improper. As such, Freeholder Margaret Nordstrom was removed from her role immediately.

On Wednesday, our morning "5 Things" feature offered up a quintet of ways to give back to this town we all love, this Morristown. Read them and let us know if you have other ways to give back.

On Thursday, we reported on the Market Street Mission Thrift Store, which has reopened after being closed from Hurricane Irene. A walk through and conversation later, we even have a new nightstand (take a look at it on our Facebook page)!

Also on Thursday, we reported on Pres. Barack Obama's decision to lift requirements for No Child Left Behind in 10 states, including New Jersey, and the reactions from key officials in the state.

On Friday, we reported on the approval by Town Council (which acts the redevelopment entity in Morristown) to designate a redeveloper on a 30-unit townhouse project off Morris Street.

Finally, also on Friday, we reported on the recently-released report from the "special master" appointed by the BPU to address the ongoing underground explosions in Morristown over the last several years.

And, now begins a new week! Man, these weekends never seem long enough. Alas. Have a great coming week and, as always, be safe!
