Bloodied Man Found Beaten on South St., Cops Say
Witnesses told police three men assaulted the 28-year-old victim.
A Linden man was found bleeding from his head after witnesses say he was assaulted by three other men on South Street.
Morristown police officer James Krauss was on foot patrol when he was alerted to the man laying on the sidewalk bleeding from the head in front of Test Rite Opticians at about 2 a.m. Nov. 18, according to a police report.
The 28-year-old victim was kept still by police while waiting for Morristown EMS to arrive to take him to Morristown Medical Center for treatment.
While waiting for the ambulance, two of the victim's friends told police three white males—all between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, wearing pea-coats and at least one with short, dark hair—committed the assault, according to the report. The witnesses said one of the men slammed the victim's head into the sidewalk, according to the report.
The victim's friends said the three men fled toward DeHart Street, which police investigated with negative results.
