Christie Arrives at Delbarton Baseball Game in State Police Helicopter

Arrived to see son play at St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale.

Gov. Chris Christie arrived by state police helicopter Tuesday afternoon at St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale for the school's baseball game against Delbarton. Christie's son Andrew plays for Delbarton.

Responding to a question from Patch about the use of the helicopter to attend the game, Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak said, "It is a means of transportation that is occasionally used as the schedule demands. This has historically been the case in prior administrations as well, and we continue to be judicious in limiting its use."

What a waste of our money by a complete and total hypocrite! During these very tough financial times while looking for more $$$ from the middle class and reducing aid just about everywhere he's using a state helicopter for transit to his son's baseball game. Reaally? How much did that cost? C'mon governor - do what the rest of us common folk do - use paid time off (if yo're lucky enough to have it) and then work twice as hard the next day when you get back to your job to catch up.

Honestly? what's the big deal? He's not using it for personal convenience. He had a commitment that his duites as a governor would not have allowed him to make otherwise. Do you want governors to have to give up their families? I'm a liberal, and I don't like Governor Christie's policies, but this is just a low blow. Let the man go to his son's baseball game, and every minute that he saves by riding in the helicopter is a minute that he can spend doing his job.
