Residents in New Jersey and New York can breathe a sigh of relief this weekend, as power restoration continues following Hurricane Sandy.
The National Weather Service says some areas will experience colder temperatures, but no severe weather or flooding is expected.
According to the forecast, scattered precipitation is possible in the interior northeast, eastern Great Lakes and central Appalachians. Rain and light snow could fall due to a cooler air mass, the weather service said. Any wintry precipitation should be less than two inches.
Expect lows in the 30s, with temperatures climbing into the 40s and 50s throughout the weekend.
In the event of any significant rainfall, you can watch flood gauges in the area.

Perhaps letting people get through this issue for a couple of days is best. This announcement seems to be jumping ahead a bit.
Adding more stress regarding additional weather announcements may want to wait until the end of the weekend so everyone can try to stabilize resources, employment disruptions and emotions that have escalated after Sandy.
Thank you for your consideration.

Last minute preparation is not sensible Anne.
People need to "grow up" and deal with life issues the. best they can

That is what saved so many lives, EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT !!!. Think people need to know that another storm is possible and should start to prepare and save what is salvageable from Sandy.Hope it misses us but we need to be prepared. Stay safe out there all.

I can't see how the announcement of a storm coming and possibly hitting us is wrong. Perhaps they should say nothing and just let it hit us? Lol
