Shortly after a truck with a crane ripped down the lines on the corner of Ann and Western next to the Court House. You just can't make this stuff up anymore. Be safe out there people!

I can tell you the lines by the courthouse were drooping low and the street should have been barricaded off to begin with ... but why a utility truck that should obviously know better tried to go under the 1/2 height wires is beyond me. I can only hope the live wires are moved so I can get into my house off Washington!

This is ridiculous!! We didn't loose power while the storm here in Hazlett st now this stupi comes and knocked the freaking pole down! I'm very upset and cold here!!! Any idea on when are they gonna restore the power in this area?!

ha.. my gf was getting ready to move in to her place on Washington St today... I guess she will just have to spend one more night at my place..... which I do not mind at all : )

Carlos! Are you kidding? Do you realize that there are people just up the street from you who have not gotten power back yet from last Monday? We are freezing!!!! My home is 41 degrees inside and I am texting this response from my car in my driveway because I needed to get warm. I'm sure your will come back soon.

It was only a matter of time until incidents like this started happening - And yes the majority of the Burnham Park community is still without power/heat - Day 8! Dorothy Drive/Grace Way and Upper Field have looked fine for days - where is the electric!

We are still out on Wetmore too, Day 8 of no electricity! It seems as if no one cares! I guess no one from JCP&L wants to fix the mess on Ogden St!

Too few workers working too long hours. I know of people putting in 16-20 hour days. Not surprised to hear about such accidents happening. I have also experienced people driving like they are in an amusement park bumper-car ride. Today, as I was passing a long line of cars for gas on Route 10, a driver got out of his car and walked into the middle of the highway(!) to see how many cars were in front of him. I almost hit him. He was totally oblivious to where he was. I think people are so weird right now they are not thinking normally.....

Bringing a downed network back online is not easy. Every branch must be traced from the source, to every possible end, and back to ground, before re-energizing the whole net. It's like raising a circus tent, all poles must be secured before lifting the tent up by the center, or it will collapse back onto the weakest point. Even is your street looks good, a street two blocks over that is ungrounded or damaged will bring you back down if not fixed simultaneously.

Maybe a "stimulus package" should be created to fund a proactive effort to minimise the effect of downed trees bringing down our power lines - or better still get them underground ala downtown Morristown!!

the power lines were low .. thank JCP&L and not the truck drivers. putting caution tape on them to make clear view that they are so low would some justice. Khadena had them. very nice morristown! also I have been without electricity from day 1. what about others without homes? bigger fish to fry. on the other hand the numerous drivers could have been electrocuted or died. wouldn't that be worse?

Looks like one of the poles at the hillcrest/mills/Washington may have gone down completely.

Good news! Today utility/pole work began on Rte202t Kemble , bottom of Skyline. Tonight by 5PM, snow storm created hazard conditions on elevated roads, Skyline Dr., cars skidded off road. No sand, nor salt .
Both Sandy and this storm were predicted and said to be prepared, however no evidence of any help was seen nor provided. JCP&L should be made to account to the public for its disgraceful response to our municipal authorities as they tried to inform their residents. Imagine the response if an unanticipated event occurred!

Still no power from the garbage truck accident.
