‘I Hate Hamlet’ Matinee at the Bickford Theatre
Where/When: Bickford Theatre, Morris Township, Thursday at 2 p.m.
Why Go: Because this is a Tony-award nominated comedy that tells the story of an actor forced to play a role he hates: Hamlet.

Where/When: Senior House in Montville on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: Because proceeds will benefit the 2011 American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Montville.

Learn About Victorian Pastimes
Where/When: The Bethel Trinity Park in Mount Tabor on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: Because both adults and students can learn how the Victorians had fun.

‘Turning the Tide’ Film Showing
Where/When: Library of the Chathams on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Because the film is about the Hackensack Meadowlands, and shows how the wetlands in America have been settled or destroyed since European settlers first arrived. The film will be followed by a discussion.

Free Friday Concert
Where/When: At the Presbyterian Church in Morristown on Friday from 12:15 to 12:55 p.m.
Why Go: Because pianist Jonathan Comisar and vocalist Galit Dadoun will perform Sephardi and Israeli folk. And, lunch will be available (for $5) by C’est Cheese.

Library Book Sale
Where/When: Roxbury Library in Succasunna on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Because prices are as low as 25 cents and there are thousands of selections, including children’s books, DVDs, music and more.
Pricing: Ranges from 25 cents to $3.

Comedy Night
Where/When: Suppa’s Restaurant in Montville on Friday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: Because admission comes with soft drinks, coffee and tea, entrees, dessert and comedy. BYOB. Proceeds benefit the Montville Township High School athletic department.
Pricing: $55 per person

‘Jersey Rocks’ Exhibition Launch Party at Morris Museum
Where/When: Morris Museum in Morris Township on Friday from 7 to 10 p.m.
Why Go: Because the party will have a boardwalk theme, a Bruce Springsteen cover band and refreshments.

Baillie and the Boys Performance
Where/When: The Studio of Long Valley on Friday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Singer/songwriter Allyssa Bonagura will open for Baillie and the Boys. BYOB.

Tony Orlando Performance
Where/When: Community Theatre in Morristown on Friday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Because Orlando has been performing for nearly four decades and will sing some of his fan’s favorites, including “Knock Three Times.”
Pricing: Ranges from $42 to $77.

‘Mauritius’ by the Chester Theatre Group
Where/When: Black River Playhouse in Chester on Friday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Because this comedic drama stars local actors and actresses, including Jill Bormann of Morristown and Steven Nitka and Carol Holland of Long Valley.
Pricing: $18; $16 for seniors or students.

Fundraiser for Morris Plains Fire Department
Where/When: Atlanta Bread in Morris Plains on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Why Go: Because 10 percent of sales will benefit the Morris Plains Fire Department.

Ju-Jitsu Self Defense Class
Where/When: St. Jude’s Parish in Hopatcong, Thursday from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.
Why Go: Because all ages can learn how to protect themselves with martial arts.

Open Mic
Where/When: The Studio of Long Valley on Thursday, 8:30 to 11 p.m.
Why Go: Because there will be a full backline and P.A. as well as CD accompaniment available, for all ages.

Where/When: Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morris Township on Saturday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Why Go: Because children between ages 5 to 8 with their parents or guardians can choose a plot and help farmers plant peas and potatoes.

Classic Cartoons
Where/When: Morris Museum in Morris Township on Saturday, 12:30 to 1 p.m.
Why Go: Because classic cartoons will be shown on the big screen at the Bickford Theatre.
Pricing: Admission to the museum is $10 for adults, $7 for children and seniors, free for children younger than three.

Planet Earth Film Showing
Where/When: Morris Museum on Saturday, 1 p.m.
Why Go: “Planet Earth: Jungles” will be shown on the big screen in the Bickford Theatre.
Pricing: Admission to the museum is $10 for adults, $7 for children and seniors, free for children younger than three.

Super Science Saturday
Where/When: Morris Museum in Morris Township on Saturday, 2 p.m.
Why Go: Because children ages 5 and older can learn the scientific method through hands-on experience.
Pricing: Free for museum members, $3 plus museum admission for non-members.

Nature Scavenger Hunt
Where/When: The Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center in Chatham on Sunday, 1 to 2 p.m.
Why Go: Because all ages can work together to solve nature riddles.
Pricing: $3.
