Morristown Area: Open for Business

Downtown never lost power, which has drawn many from outside our area.

Morristown's downtown has been open and ready for your business pretty much since the recovery phase of this week's storm began.

Since much of the town's retail sector has opened, many have availed themselves of our services from where electricity remains a scarce commodity.

Earlier this week we posted what was open and closed, and now we want to clean up that list and let our readers—from both inside Morristown and beyond—know what is open right now and ready to take your order and hard-earned dollars.

This is not just about where to eat and drink, however. If you know that the Morristown and Morris Township Library has reopened, or whether a gas station is open and pumping gas, let us know that in the comments section as well.

Also, let us know if something in Morris Township and Morris Plains is back online.

What's Open (as of 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1)?

MORRISTOWN:

At this point, we are going to hold off on updating this section of the list because, for the most part, the entire downtown is powered up and open. Some outskirt locations are still without power, including a portion of Washington Street past the Morris County Courthouse (this includes Suvio's and Caffe India, to name two). So, if you know of a place in Morristown that is still closed, let us know.

MORRIS PLAINS:

  • Quick Chek
  • Acme
  • Stop and Shop
  • Fairchild Gas
  • Collins Pub
  • It's Time for a Bagel
  • Olive Tree Music Academy

Since power outages are inevitable having a long run time flashlight is a good idea.

Lowes has a 65 hour run time flashlight for under $5.00

I got mine in store. I also got one at Target.

Or go micro solar for under $50.00.

Very disappointed Morristown Library is not open. I pass by it very day & see lights inside. Believe it has electricity. It would be nice the library is open to Morristown residents & offers us a place to pass by time & read books.
