I Saw the Sign: Two, Actually
Swiss Chalet's new location gets signage, while its neighboring building finally gets a new tenant after several years.

It took quite a while, but this empty building has finally seen a new tenant emerge.
No, we're not talking about Yo & Papa, though we're sure many would love to see something move back into that primo location. We're talking about the first floor of the building at Madison Street and South Street. No, we're not talking about the one Swiss Chalet is moving into. However, they did recently put their new sign up, so that's moving steadily ahead.
Just a couple happy hops from their new digs, Camille's Sidewalk Cafe once upon a time served up sandwiches. But, sometime before Morristown Patch even existed, they closed up shop and the space has been vacant since.
Until now. The sign for The Mutual Fund Store recently went up there, promising that soon, very soon, you will have a place in Morristown to address all of your financial and monetary needs.
A national chain, The Mutual Fund Store has several other locations in New Jersey, including in Cherry Hill and Paramus—though, according to The Mutual Fund Store, Paramus and Morristown are apparently not in New Jersey but in a section of New York called "NYC Area." You learn something new every day.

There's really nothiing of value in Morristown unless you're looking to go to the bank or get drunk and vomit on the sidewalk.

I'm glad you're here to point these things out to us, "clyde." It really is refreshing to hear your expert opinion on everything, because it helps me to decide what to do with my time. I hope that some day I can grow up and be as angry and misanthropic as you. Tell me, does such misery come from self loathing, or is there a Mrs. "donovan" who loathes you too? No, probably a former Mrs. "donovan," am I right?

Although slightly misguided Clyde does make a blatantly obvious decent point. Waaaay to many banks....Morristown is obviously looking for more tax revenue so they don't mind the revolving doors of bank after bank closing and opening but its an absolute stupid amount of banks. Rent is way too high to attract retail and its a big problem. Saw a good article on some towns in jersey that offer a points based system that offers a tax break for shopping at local businesses rather than large chain stores. Get on board mo town.

I agree with Matt completely. We need more stores like Century 21, that place is a hidden gem. Although, their belt department is garbage. I bought a belt from them a while back; no sooner was it around my waist - then it was in the trash, where it belonged from the get-go.

Finding retail and business clients? isn’t that what the Morristown Partnership is suppose to do or do they just put up signs and sponsor the fall food fest on the Green?
