Person of the Year: Kendra Arnold
Longtime resident is a visible advocate for biking and walking as co-founder of Bike and Walk Morristown.
You made your nominations, then voted those nominations until the end of 2012.
The Morristown/Morris Township-Morris Plains Patch Person of the Year is Bike and Walk Morristown co-founder Kendra Arnold. Congratulations!
A Morristown resident for over 10 years, Arnold is a familiar sight around town, either leading an organized walk, on her bike, walking dogs or manning a booth seeking new members for Bike and Walk Morristown, an advocacy group promoting more and better options for bicycling and walking in town. She also has been a semi-regular blogger here on Patch.
"I was super flattered that I was included on this list, but I'm really thinking that this just shows how people in Morristown want to live in a place where it is a pleasure to walk and bike, and where they can hang out and meet their neighbors," Arnold said when informed of the honor. "I think everyone who was been volunteering like crazy and leading walks and planning fun bike events for Bike and Walk Morristown really deserves this award, but I'll totally accept it for them."

Absolutely the best choice. And if you haven't joined BikeWalk Motwn yet...why not do so now to celebrate Kendra's award.

Kendra is one of those people who quietly go about making Morristown a better place, without even thinking about getting recognition for all the time she puts in. She invented the 'Bike-in-Movie Night' at the Early Street Community Garden, and it has become a yearly event for 4 years now. Go Kendra, congratulations!

Congratuations to Kendra.
If they had two winners I would selected Victor Joe France of Lake road in Morristown. This man has been a very active member of the Morristown Fire Dept unpaid ranks for over 40 years! Been there night and day risking his life and limbs, never asking for anything. Also served as chief for many years as well. Very unselfish person.Great role model for our community and our young people! If you see Victor around town plese tell him thanks!

Congrats! I agree with CycleJim. A terrific choice, as Kendra has done so much to make Morristown a better place and create community here. Great idea to join BikeWalk Motwn yet if you're not yet a member to celebrate Kendra's award.
