Kindergarten Visitation Sessions Begin Jan. 3

Registration begins Feb. 1.

The Morris School District will hold kindergarten visitation days for parents of incoming kindergarten children during the month of January.

Visitations are scheduled for Jan. 3 at Woodland School; Jan. 12 at Normandy Park School; Jan. 13 at Hillcrest School; and Jan. 26 at Alfred Vail School. All visitation sessions are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Because the kindergarten program is identical in all district schools, parents may attend the visitation program that is most convenient for their schedule.

In addition to the kindergarten visitation days, parents will have the opportunity to learn about the elementary program in the Morris School District during two parent information sessions. These will be held on Jan. 18 at Normandy Park School at 9:45 a.m. and at 7 p.m. on Jan. 25 at Alfred Vail School. Each presentation will include an overview of both traditional and multiage instruction and provide ample opportunity for questions and discussion.

Kindergarten registration will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Lafayette Learning Center, 31 Hazel St., Morristown, according to the following schedule: children whose last name begins with the letters A-E may register on Wednesday, Feb. 1; children whose last name begins with the letters F-L may register on Wednesday, Feb. 8; children whose last name begins with the letters M-R may register on Wednesday, Feb. 15; children whose last name begins with the letters S-Z may register on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

In order to enter kindergarten in September, children must be five years old on or before Oct. 1, 2012. Additional information may be found on the parent resources page of the Morris School District website, MorrisSchoolSistrict.org, or by calling 973-292-2300, ext. 2112.

I believe the birthdate information is incorrect. It should say 5 years old on or before Oct. 1st 2012...
