Wordsmiths Writing Workshop
When/Where: Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Jefferson Township Public Library.
Why Go: So you can get your creative juices flowing using writing prompts and get feedback on your work.

Family Fun Day
Where/When: Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts, 9 Main St., Madison
Why Go: Because it's a good time to get crafty with your kids.

Leap in the Lake
When/Where: Saturday, 1 p.m. at Hopatcong State Park
Why Go: Because you want to donate to help area special-needs children while leaping into a freezing cold Lake Hopatcong. Or because you want to watch others jump in the water.
Cost: Free to watch. Must donate $50 to leap.
Meditation Workshop
When/Where: Saturday, 3 p.m., The Library of the Chathams
Why Go: Chill out, relax and get back to a stress-free existence through meditations, conducted by professionals. Please sign up through the Circulation Desk in advance and bring your own mat. Refrain from eating for 3 hours prior.
Cost: Free
Pasta Dinner
When/Where: Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Bradley Gardens Fire Department on Old York Road in Bridgewater.
Why Go: To support the fire company with an all-you-can-eat dinner that includes pastas, sausage, meatballs, salad and dessert.
Cost: $10 per adult, $9 for seniors, $5 for children and free for children under 5 years of age.
Mardi Gras Party
When/Where: Saturday at 6 p.m. at St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 335 Reynolds Ave, Parsippany
Why Go: To support the Youth Group's trip to a church youth conference in New Orleans, eat southern cuisine and laissez les bons temps roulez in a wholesome way

Wine Tasting Soiree
When/Where: Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Smoke Rise Village Inn in Kinnelon
Why Go: To experience a variety of fine wines and light fare while supporting theSmoke Rise Nursery School, as it is their fundraiser.

'Ivy, a Most Unusual Plant'
When/Where: Sunday, 1 p.m. at Frelinghuysen Arboretum, Morris Township
Why Go: You want to learn about ivy from an expert, its many varieties, and maybe even buy some for your home.

Meet 'President Lincoln' on his Official Birthday
When/Where: Sunday 1 p.m. at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, Morristown

Bubble Mania
