Learn CPR, Catch an Exhibit, Enjoy Live Music
The weekend is here. Finally.
Friday is finally here, so we've assembled a few options to put the week behind you. Here's what you need to know going into the weekend:
You Need to Know About Child and Infant CPR: The Red Cross hosts a four-and-a-half-hour class from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. designed for childcare providers, teachers, parents and others who care for children and need to know how to recognize and address breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children up to 12 years old. The cost for the class, which takes place at 29 Elm Street, is $55. Visit Redcross.org/takeaclass to register. Certifications, valid for two years, will be issued.
You Need to Know About Art: This summer's art exhibition at the College of St. Elizabeth, "Water, Water, Anywhere," takes a look at water in all its states through a variety of forms and mixed media art works. The exhibit will be on view at the Maloney Art Gallery Tuesday through Sunday, 4:30 to 8 p.m. through September 10.
You Need to Know How to Consign: Bring one of your favorite works of art or antiques for a complementary assessment at Harding Gallery on a Friday between 1 and 4 p.m. Mention Patch, and receive a gift certificate for your next purchase.
You Need to Know About Music: From 8 to 11 p.m., enjoy the guitar work and smooth vocal harmonies of Dave Kleiner and his wife Liz Pagan at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship. The evening will showcase some of Kleiner’s originals, in addition to some covers by his folk and pop contemporaries. Tickets for adults are $7, while children 12 and under are free.
You Need to Know About More Music: Hennessey's Washington Bar hosts an acoustic evening with Mingo. From 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., the member of Big Boss Sausage entertains the crowd with originals and covers as well as solos and surprise guests.
