Morristown Man Accused of Phoenix Ave. Beating
Jamon L. Wiggins charged with aggravated assault in connection with April incident.
A Morristown man has been charged with aggravated assault, linked to an April beating of a man found lying with head injuries on Phoenix Avenue, according to an article in the Daily Record.
Jamon L. Wiggins, 29, of Phoenix Avenue, was charged Wednesday in connection to the April 21 assault, according to the article. Criminal complaints allege Wiggins struck the victim in the head, “causing him to sustain injury to his brain which required corrective surgery,” according to the article.
According to police at the time of the incident the injured man, who has not been publicly identified, was found lying on Phoenix Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. on April 21. The man sustained head injuries and was transported to Morristown Medical Center at that time, police said.
The man spent weeks in the critical care unit of the hospital but has since been released, according to the article.
