Man Stabbed Outside Speedwell Ave. Bar, Cops Say
Alleged victim says Danny's Pub patron attacked him and ran off, according to police.
A man standing outside Danny's Pub early Sunday morning told police a bar regular pulled out a knife, stabbed him and ran off.
Speaking to Officer Eric Petr through a translator, the victim, who has not been identified by police, said he was outside the bar smoking a cigarette at about 2 a.m. A man walked out of the bar, pulled a knife and stabbed the man in the left forearm, according to police.
The man then ran away in the direction of South Street, according to the report.
The victim, however, could not provide a written statement to police due to his intoxicated state at the time, police said.
The victim told police he did not know the man's name but had seen him at the bar a number of times, according to the report. He was described as a short Hispanic male, wearing a white sleeveless shirt and black pants.
The victim had nothing stolen from him and could not provide an explanation why the other man stabbed him, according to police.
A search in the area for the man came up with negative results, police said.
The victim was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment.

Why is it important that you say the person who stabbed someone is Hispanic? You don't mention the ethnicity of the injured. Why is that?
And still you don't investigate 130.5 Speedwell even though everyone is writing about it on this website. Be fair in your reporting

First, Whitey White, the man accused of stabbing the other man was described by that man as Hispanic, according to the police report. Second, regarding your other question, if you have information, you are welcome to email us to discuss it further. When accusations are made on the site that are potentially libelous, inflammatory or potentially illegal, they will be deleted every time they are spotted. If you are genuinely interested in seeing an issue investigated by this publication, I again advise you to contact us. My email is john.dunphy@patch.com, I look forward to speaking with you.

Why doesn't someone just go check out what this guy is talking about? It must be something. John, are you too busy to take a quick walk down Speedwell Avenue? I know it's kind of creepy over there, but jeez

Hey Dunphy, why did you have to mention that the shirt was white? What color was the shirt of the injured? Was is patterned or a solid color? What shabby reporting!

Why don't you investigate 130.5 Speedwell Ave Dunphy? Aren't you a reporter? The word is getting around about that place. People are legitimately concerned about what is going on there. Maybe you could help Morristown instead of just Embarrassing citizens who get DUI's. Help clean up Speedwell Ave

Commentors about 130.5 Speedwell Ave must have prior experiences with that building if they are so worried the Mr. Dunphy is not reporting about it.
You people don't even know journalism. Much less reporting.

I love Danny's. Stabbing's are rare for that part of the block. At that time of night we should be @ Grilled Cheese Factory

I have little interest in who stabs whom at what bar. Why is mr dunphy always writing his little libel disclaimer? I have never seen it anywhere in any other web site, including all legitimate news outlets (CNN,msnbc, nyt). Perhaps mr dunphy is a bit caught up in ruling his own tiny fiefdom, your site isn't that important for people to bother libeling each other, so chill out.

Bummer, libel is something that all legitimate news outlets have to avoid or face legal consequences. Just because there's no disclaimer doesn't mean that CNN, MSNBC, etc. is allowed to do it.

What is going on at 130.5 speedwell? Isn't that pan pizza?

It is not Pan Pizza, it is the place next door called the Metro Shop. It is a clothing store that gets packed! I saw a video of what goes on in there. It is a real eye opener. There is a bar in the back with a pool table. I won't say anything specific but you can get whatever you want in there!!!

I for one, appreciate this kind of news. I haves lived in this town for 10 years- and I like to know it all- the good, bad and ugly. It's amazing how much people can criticize from behind their computer screens.

again, as regular at Dumpy's , I mean Danny's I have to say, this is not a typical night there. Most patrons are unruly & belligerent inside the bar.. Clean up your act Speedwell!

Dunphy is commenting about the stabbers race because its a description and the man is still at large. It doesn't matter about the race of the intoxicated man who got stabbed.

A "short hispanic male wearing a white shirt and black pants"? I have never seen anyone matching that description but I will keep my eyes peeled!

If this was a serial killer who's victim happen to survive .
Her discription describing the killer as a short, fat Hispanic male wearing a black shirt and blue jeans would be extremely important.
The only racist thing I read is the comment made by whitey white.
