Mayor Asks JCP&L: When Will Power Be Fully Restored?
More than 1,600 Morristown customers remained without power late Saturday.
As more than 1,600 Morristown JCP&L customers remained without power late Saturday night, the mayor said the town has been pressing the utility company for a timetable on the restorations.
In a letter to residents, Mayor Tim Dougherty said the town has asked the utility company "for specific information to update our residents and have leveraged all external relations to apply pressure to make our community a priority."
"All municipal employees and resources will be used to aid our residents during this recovery period," the letter read. "I have ensured that every possible method will be used to communicate and keep the public updated with information as necessary."
Town Hall will remain open 24/7 as a warming and charging center.
