Occupy This Space: Blockbuster Video
What once was "wow, what a difference" has become "wow, what a dump."
Once upon a time, people lamented the loss of the family-run video store as giant chains, mostly Blockbuster Video, knocked them out of business.
In today's cheap digital information age, it's the Blockbusters that have become a relic of the past.
That past can be viewed through the windows of 117 Speedwell Ave., once home to Morristown's own Blockbuster Video, which closed up shop last year. Inside are a number of memories of its once occupied past, including shelves, boxes and a copy of District 9.
Though this building might eventually fall to the Speedwell Redevelopment Project, that is still a long ways off. In the interim, its messy interior and broken, unwelcoming interior are reminders that the big dog in the park usually doesn't stay the big dog forever.
So, what would you like to see "Occupy This Space?" Chime in below.

A sports bar at this location would be far more fitting than those recently opened or proposed for other areas of town in the midst of new residential development. Perhaps the town needs to look at the Master Plan again and see how all the redevelopment zones fit into existing zoning in those areas.

Something like a Greenberry's? Coffee, snacks, music and books could work here. There's certainly ample parking.

Great idea. Parking would be great for those running in and out for morning coffee. And it could host events.

Clear out the entire corner of Spring & Speedwell to realign with Early. This will yield some space between HQ Plaza and the new intersection -- perfect for a pocket park.
