Occupy This Space: On the Corner, on the Green
Long-empty, this piece of prime real estate could use some occupation.
It's quiet. Too quiet. Oh, we're sorry, we're just talking about the section of South Park Place once occupied by Greenberry's.
While Anthony's Pizza & Pasta and The UPS Store are holding their own, the exit of that coffee shop left this section of the Green eerily quiet. But, Greenberry's was not the first gap in this business cluster.
On the corner of South Park and South Street is a piece of primo real estate. Yet, for at least two years (since Morristown Patch came into being), it has been empty. And, quiet. Too quiet.
So, in this week's "Occupy This Space," we're asking what you think could work here. Think about its footprint, its size and shape. Could a convenience store thrive? A restaurant? A clothing store? Give us your suggestions in the comments below.

Hey remember DietWorks? That place had really good food, which always surprised me because of the name. I'm not sure if they were vegetarian or not. Of course to put in a restaurant you have to have a kitchen, does this space have one , or the permits for one?

If I had the money I would love to open a place that could be used by the community. A non profit that had a coffee bar, some sort of book shop, maybe used books, somewhere that groups could use to promote connection between neighbors. It has been my dream for a while and that property on the corner has caught my eye for a long time.

The problem is there is limited parking. The new deck is on the other side of the street.
Also, while the building has a certain charm, it is old and is in need of repair. If you look at the outside walls, it looks like they need some attention.

Not sure if there would be space at this particular location but how about a wine bar/tapas place somewhere in Morristown? A brew-pub that brews their own beers would be pretty cool to have too, thinking something similar to Triumph brewery in Princeton, New Hope & Philadelphia.

The entire building is for sale. If I recall correctly they're asking around $6 million.
