POLL: What Restaurants Do You Want to See in Morristown?

With two new dining destinations with Italian themes being announced this week, Patch wants to know what you hope will come next.

Hungry? In Morristown, you have options.

That was made even more evident this week when Patch reported not one, but two new restaurants are set to open in early 2013—Fiore's Italian on Elm Street and Olive Lucy's on Speedwell Avenue.

While Olive Lucy's also plans on serving Portuguese staples like Paella, both new dining destinations have Italian themes. They are going to have a lot of competition here, not just from their other paisans, but from the plethora of restaurants that aren't Italian that also call Morristown home.

To that end, we want to know what type of restaurant you would like to see come next? A new diner? Greek? Vietnamese? More Italian? Something else? Chime in below.

Vegetarian, Organic, Farm to table. Please no more Italian, burgers, steaks!
So unexciting.

Something healthy. Too few healthy options in town currently - sure lots of sushi, but I'd love somewhere that had traditional dishes with a healthy twist so eating out didn't always feel so bad.

On the unhealthy side...rodizio, gastropub or brewpub!

I agree and maybe along the lines of Bonefish.

I like some of the ideas mentioned above! In general, I think the following places could thrive in the current town restaurant situation:

Tapas Bar, Rodizio, Gastropub, Korean BBQ, Dim Sum

@Kendra, Lissa, Danielle, and Ryan - While not downtown Morristown, I'm really excited about bringing a unique falafel and hummus restaurant (vegetarian) to Route 10 W in Denville so not too far. We'll be all about a fresh, flavor-packed food.

So stay tuned :) facebook.com/crispdenville or @crispdenville on Twitter for grand opening updates...If you're still curious, also search for Crisp New York on Yelp.

Morristown could use a place to get a quick sandwich to go with easy parking.

Estacion by the Train Station is BYO and has great food. Not expensive at all either.

Tapas Bar with Yummy Sangria and warm an inviting atmosphere. Similar to Lola's in Hoboken but not as expensive.

Also a Wine Bar with small plates, similar to Bin14 in Hoboken. Great date place and breakfast place.

More restaurants? How about some shops to browse before or after meal?

Diana, Please visit Top This, our Women's Clothing and Accessory Boutique owned by a mother/daughter team! We are tucked away in the parking lot off Pine Street (enter driveway next to 10 Pine Street and look for our sign). We opened a year ago December 7th. www.shoptopthis.com

Thank you Chris - I agree 200% - a cafe/restaurant that sources primarily from the farms of the Garden State and other organic, local providers of food would be a wonderful antidote to "Fatty's"!

New Jersey...."the garden state".
Actually a restaurant called "The Garden State" with only NJ sourced food would be very cool, healthy, interesting and intriguing..

No chain restaurants please. I'm still waiting for the Cuban restaurant to return, although Shake It (moved into Cha Cha Cha site) is my favorite burger place in town.

Restaurants? I'd settle for anything that is not a bank. The Green is waste of retail space thanks to the banks.

Agree 100%, the banks are wasting space. Also a pet peeve of mine is the AT&T store taking space in that prime location.

Agreed about the banks, unfortunately, landlords love 'em.

If it has to be another restaurant, how about trying to attract something that will take its place among the "best-of-the-best" in north Jersey. While we have some good, even very good, restaurants in Motown, we don't have any in that category (judging by any restaurant critic I'm aware of). I would vote for seafood, but it could be something else as long as it's top drawer.

Lots of great suggestions, but really we need MUSIC more than food or at least a restaurant focused on music. Thinking a smaller, BYO performance space or something like Shanghai Jazz).

A nice, modestly-priced French bistro, effectively a replacement for Chez Nous, would be ideal. Even better if (like Chez Nous) it's BYOB.
