10th 'Taste of Morristown' is Coming Monday

Event will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 27 at Hanover Marriott.

Looking for a taste of Morristown?

For 10 years, Morristown Rotary, the local arm of the Rotary International service organization, has brought Morristown (and Morristown-area) restaurants together for an evening of mingling and sampling, all to benefit the service projects they participate in throughout the year.

And on Monday, Feb. 27, the event marks its 10th anniversary starting at 6 p.m. at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany.

So far, more than 40 businesses have signed up to show off what they have to offer, including familiar faces like , and ; as well as a number of restaurants that have just recently joined the Morristown dining scene, including , , and .

As it is a "Morristown-area" event, there also are some restaurants from outside those three-square-miles, including in Morris Township, (the new concept by the owners of the former Copeland), in Morris Township, in Summit and in Parsippany. There also will be whiskey and spirits tasting by William Grant & Sons and wine tastings by , of Madison.

Tickets are $60, and all proceeds will be donated to the charitable causes supportd by Morristown Rotary, which include Interfaith Food Pantry, the , as well as international concerns including the Rotary's ongoing mission to eliminate polio from the world, as well as fund clean water services for underprivledged nations.

Live music, a tricky tray and "Grand Raffle," featuring electronic and sports equipment, will also highlight the three-hour event.
