Tires Stolen From Cars on 4 Morristown Streets

Morris Township also saw similar tire thefts Sunday night.

Wheels and tires of cars were stolen in four different locations in Morristown on Sunday, according to Morristown Police Department Capt. Steven Sarinelli.
The incidents happened on Hill Street, Ford Avenue, Franklin Place and Sunset Place. Sarinelli said the cars from which the wheels were stolen were placed on cinder blocks after 1 a.m. Morristown police officers and officers from the Morris County Sheriff's Department responded to the locations to investigate.
Similar thefts were reported in Morris Township also on Sunday night, Sarinelli said.
The Morristown and Morris Township Police Departments are working jointly in the investigation of the thefts. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Teddy Jones of the Morristown Police Department at 973-292-6642.

Why would the police cars be parked there and unattended after 1:00 a.m? Where were the police officers that were assigned to these cars? If these cars were off duty, wouldn't they be parked in the police station lot a few blocks away?

it is all going to get worse and more violent. better get yourself a gun before they start breaking in your house. It takes a really long time to get a gun permit now. the government has purposely made it take a long and complicated. You will have to go out of state to get ammo or maybe canada. New jersey government does not want you to exercise your 2nd amendment rights and wants to disarm you and make you helpless at the hands of these crooks. I have had three basement windows kicked out since the begining of the year. Access has block thankfully by my newly install havac system, but they came back three times. Be careful everyone.

your 2nd amendment rights? you mean the right to own a gun so the government can use you in a militia? why does nobody know how to read?!?!

plus, if you shoot somebody trying to break into your house, you're both getting arrested. you cannot shoot an intruder unless you have no way to escape and they do. if you're a responsible gun owner, you'd know the laws so you don't wind up a criminal while claiming to protect yourself against other criminals.

you can only use deadly force if there is actual danger to yourself. if you shoot somebody just because they're stealing your stuff, they might leave in a body bag, but you're leaving in handcuffs. if your car tires are worth jail time, then have fun. know the law!

Second amendment writers were thinking muskets. I bought myself one and I swear I'll dislocate my shoulder if anyone steals so much as my antenna.

Plead the 2d: Are you seriously thinking it's okay to kill someone for stealing some tires? If the justice system is that bad here for you, why not move to China?

the ethnic assumption in NJ would be "drug crazed Columbians" or "damn Latins"
get your slur right
Mexican's are California's scapegoat

You're not saying they did it, but let's incarcerate or get rid of them anyway, right? Scapegoats are fun 'cause they're so vulnerable!

Golly, Judy, with absolutely no information about the identity of the perps, you go right to the homeless? Before the Market Street Mission existed there were public hangings on The Green; seems like a "bad thing" to me.

Your use of the words “ever since” makes it seem like Morristown’s homeless denizens are a recent addition. The unfortunate souls used to wander into my workplace nearly thirty years ago—sans tires.

Let's use some logic here. From what I've read, it appears that 16 wheels or tires were stolen from four cars in a short period of time. I would think that would require some pretty sophisticated tools and special skills to accomplish. However, the next time I see a homeless person or Hispanic looking person carrying 16 tires and wheels walking by, I'll be sure to alert the police.

Ok so what knowledge of Construction, health, property maintenance, rent leveling and, zoning. Will he be bringing to the table? All I see is some human resources and customer service experience, which tells me, all were going to get from this guy, is a smile and a hand shake. It’s amazing to me there was no one in house that could to fill this position

are you referring to the "Morristown Hires First Director of Code Enforcement" story
or, if not,

Doug, What I'm saying is that the type of special tools and vehicles required for this kind of theft are not likely to be owned or used by the individuals cited as likely suspects by some of the posters.
