Touchdown! Club Gets $4K
Barnabas Health-provided donation to fund pre-game meals, among other uses.
The Morristown High School Colonials Touchdown Club recently received a $4,000 sponsorship donation from Barnabas Health.
Much of the donation, awarded earlier this month, will be used for the football team's pre-game meals, said Board of Education member Terri Murphy.
Michael Ostrowsky, a Florham Park-based lawyer and vice president of the Touchdown Club, contacted his brother Barry, who is CEO of the Livingston-based hospital. "He spoke to the board about it and they decided to make a commitment to be a supporter of the team," Ostrowsky said. "They take on causes they believe in. This is one they wanted to do and we're very thankful and appreciative."
Ostrowsky, whose son is a sophomore linebacker on the team, noted Barnabas would have banners at the field for the entire season.
"The timing of it was great," he said.

Is this how hospitals should be spending their money? Shouldn't it be spent on delivering better service and care at lower prices, not sponsoring sports teams.
