What Should Occupy 91 Morris St.?
Amidst restaurants and bars, this standalone stands quiet.
If you're looking for a drink or a bite to eat, there are plenty of options in Morristown.
Specifically for the purpose of this week's edition of "Occupy This Space," we're looking at the area of Morris Street occupied by a multitude of dining and drinking establishments. You've got George & Martha's, Morristown Diner, Cluck-U. If you walk just a block or so, you have Pete's, Pomodoro, Tavern off the Green ... you get the idea.
But, should you choose to go from one end of that area to the other, you'll have to pass a curiously-empty piece of prime real estate known as 91 Morris St.
The owner of the property obviously is looking for a lessee, since they have a sign on the window seeking one. The skeleton of an old awning hangs lazily above, as a few small posters have been hung on its lonely walls since, well, who is going to complain?
We want to know what you think should "Occupy This Space." Another restaurant? Bank? Or, would this be a space better-suited for, say, a bowling alley? Chime in below.

Lousy spot for a bowling alley, best suited for a low volume retail or an office. Not convenient for parking, the mall (7-11, Burger King) owned by Villa Enterprises tows cars routinely. This area of town is also out the "vibe" of Morristown. It's funny how residents ask for a variance to live in the "business district" and then complain about businesses coming into the business district. What next? Shut down the traffic on the green after 10 PM? We need to change the zoning of the town if you want to restrict commercial development. Wow we've come a long way in a short time.

The Walsh's should buy this and open up a second bowling alley bar!!!!

the building is in very bad shape and it needs a new roof. There is also no parking. Given the age of the building and its condition, maybe it should be torn down and something new developed on the site.

i say make it into a bar! parking isnt a problem for a bar. all the drunks should be walking to/from it anyway!

As challenging as 91 Morris st real estate is am sure in time something will emerge there
A more vexing commercial property I think is the 15 k sq feet available at the Vail mansion
That truly requires some creative commercial real estate thinking

A clothing store would be pretty cool. Definitely something that is lacking in town.
