With identical records going into the No Idea volleyball final, there was no way of knowing whether it would be The Avengers or SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers that would prove to be just a little bit better than the other and take home the title.
In game 1, it looked as though it was going to be a back-and-forth battle between the 2 teams, as they traded points for the first 9 plays, with the SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers taking the lead, 5-4. But after that, SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers went on a hot streak as they won 11 of the next 15 points to go up 16-8. But The Avengers answered, playing smarter and winning 5 straight points to come within 3. As the SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers saw their lead slipping away, they scored 9 points and only allowed The Avengers 3 more, as SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers took game 1, 25-16.
The Avengers needed to win game 2 to have a shot at the title and they came out looking like they would tie it up. In another back-and-forth start, the 2 teams were tied up at 7. Although they played better than in the first game, The Avengers were unable to stop the SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers from going on multiple-point streaks: if The Avengers scored 1 point, the SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers would answer with 2. Four points away from locking up the title, the SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers were leading 21-14, but The Avengers weren't done yet. They rallied for 6 straight points to cut the SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers lead to just 1. Was this the push The Avengers needed to take game 2? They scored 1 more point, but it wasn't enough as the SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers locked up the title with a 25-21 victory. The Avengers wouldn't get shut out in the championship though, as they won game 3, 21-14.
Congratulations to the SofaKING Nasty Honeybadgers on their volleyball victory and to The Avengers on a great championship game! As a rule, Liz, we don't fix blog posts since they are not Patch stories but writings of our readers. Who am I to say that team didn't spell "Honeybadgers" that way?

Granted, it may just be a misspelling. If Sara Fiore tells me to fix it, I'll fix it.

It was merely a suggestion. Though, I'm told that the honeybadger doesn't give a s*** about misspellings.

Nothing can stop the honeybadger (or, honeybager) when it's misspelled.

John is exactly right...the team roster lists the team name as "Honeybadgers," and they're the champs, so I won't be telling them how to spell their name :) Thanks for reading!
