On Friday, July 27, Bike and Walk Morristown is hosting a picnic on the lawn of the Vail Mansion and you are totally invited.
If you order a picnic dinner from the Artist Baker's special picnic menu, she is donating the proceeds to help us fund events, classes and things like bike racks in town. You can order your picnic dinner through July 24.
The menu includes fried chicken sandiwches, bacon, letuce and green tomato marmalade on toast, blue potato salad, old fashioned chocolate cake and tons more goodies. Morristown vegetarians and vegans will be thrilled to see there are things for them to eat on this menu: hummus with roasted vegetables and ginger, roasted turnip and blueberry salad, beets with hazelnuts and orange, and vegan summer pies are also avialable. Be sure to mention you are ordering vegan options, and thank her for doing this!
People are welcome to bring their own picnics or pick up something to go from another of their favorite restaurants in Morristown, too.
Artists Ashley Cook, Ryan Taylor, and Mike Felber, along with others will be displaying their bicycle themed art, along with some bicycle themed designs made especially for this show by Glassworks on South Street. Bring a little cash, because you never know when a piece of art will want to go home with you. The Musictown Trio will be providing some awesome music to dine by.
Also on display will be a collection of vintage bicycles and a few handmade unique bicycles that are a must-see. Hula hoop instructor, Ter'i Clegg, will also be on hand to lend a hoop or two, and will be selling some of her hoops to help support Bike and Walk Morristown.
The monthly Morristown Community Bike Ride starts at Town Hall Parking lot at 6:30, if you want to take a spin around town before joining us!
Bike and Walk Morristown would like to thank the Artist Baker, Marty's Reliable Cycle and Sustainable Morristown for all their help and support to helping this event come together. We appreciate your support in bringing fun stuff and good food, along with safe biking and walking to Morristown!
