She's got heart and passion for roller derby, that's why the Jerzey Derby Brigade's Hits Spaniola is October's Skater of the Month. She will be making her bout debut on Saturday, Oct. 20th at Inline Morristown (located at 38 Dumont Place, Morristown, NJ). Cheer her on at this intraleague showdown! How did you hear about roller derby? How did you get involved?
I came to watch my derby wife (Beast Witherspoon) skate and I was in awe at how awesome it was I had to join.

What does your derby name say about you?
Hits Spaniola represents my origin and what's exciting about Derby, physical contact!

What is your favorite position and why?
Jamming is my favorite position because of the agility, foot work, and speed involved.

Did you ever get any gnarly bruises? How?
I haven't had any horrible bruising... yet, but I did slam my face into Doom Hilda's shoulder and busted my lip open.

What do you want the people of Morris County to know about the sport?
I want people in Morris County to come out and be a part of something that is more than just a sport. Roller Derby is so enthralling and wonderful everyone should have the privilege to enjoy it!
