Teen Pride, Inc. Hosts Second Annual 5th Quarter Celebrating Morristown Colonials On Saturday, October 20, Teen Pride Inc. hosted its second annual 5th quarter in their headquarters at The Salvation Army in Morristown, NJ. The event was a great success with sponsorships from local businesses such as Top China’s Chinese Restaurant and Anthony’s Pizza as well as local celebrity DJ’s and artists turning out to show their support. Guttah State Records provided music and a show for all the attendees. “We’re all about community,” says Tyshaun Griffin, co-founder of the crew. “I came {to Teen Pride} in high school. How could we not come to give back?” GSR was founded in Morristown and their latest single recently hit a million downloads on popular independent music website, SoundCloud. “We really appreciate everyone coming together to make the 5th Quarter what it was,” says Teen Pride Director, Dan Levitt. “Members of our board enjoy talking with the kids because we really care about these kids.” Dan became the director of Teen Pride Inc in 2011 and is responsible for bringing the 5th Quarter to Morristown, he remembers similar events as a teen following high school football and basketball games in Maine. “We strive to create a fun, chill environment for our local teens – a place they want to be while keeping them safe and discouraging the types of destructive behaviors that can often follow unattended teens after such an exciting event,” added Assistant Director Jamie Pooler. “This weekend’s 5th Quarter really achieved that. We look forward to it getting bigger and better.”The Teen Pride Inc. Teen Center is located at 95 Spring Street Morristown New Jersey.
