Winter is in full swing and both plants and animals are hibernating. Learn how they stay warm when mittens aren’t an option. Bring your favorite preschooler, ages 3 through 5, to the arboretum, explore different gardens around The Frelinghuysen Arboretum and learn just how important plants are and how they do what they do. Each walk will include an activity and a story. Garden Sprouts is led by Master Gardeners Lily Mehl and Ingrid Witty.

Frelinghuysen Arboretum is a 127-acre collection of trees and shrubs cultivated and labeled for educational and scientific purposes. The area offers beautiful views and is surrounded by woodlands, meadows, gardens and distinctive collections of trees and shrubs. The Frelinghuysen Arboretum is also a center for horticultural activities, including educational programs, special tours, group tours and special events. The area is ideal for hikes, as well as commercial filming, photography, summer camp programs, wedding ceremonies and tented events.
