Russian Film Festival at Morristown & Morris Township Library Thursday

Mermaid story on tap at 6:30 p.m.

The Morristown & Morris Township Library continues their annual series of Russian Films Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Even though Presidents Obama and Putin may have their heated disagreements over everything from Syria to the United Nations, there is no disagreement about screening some of the best movies Russia has to offer.

Tonight's offering is Mermaid, a film from 2007 described as whimsical drama about a green-haired girl whose family is forced to move from their rural home to Moscow.  Once there, the quirky introverted girl comes of age while clashing with the trappings of the big city.  Screened at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, nominated for the Grand Jury Prize.

Beverages and light refreshments will be served.  This program is supported through funding from the Friends of the Morristown & Morris Township Library.
