The Midnight Movies at 7 series, showing cult and B-movies traditionally shown at Midnight Movie houses at the Morristown and Morris Township Library, may have met its match.
On Sept. 26 a screening of Sharknado will show as part of the occasional film series.
In what is being dubbed as one of the “best worst movies of all time,” Sharknado––a made-for-TV-movie airing first on the Syfy Network––caused a firestorm of publicity this summer when multiple celebrities, and then thousands of their fans, tweeted about the movie, including Glee star
Cory Monteith, right before his death in July.
The hype surrounding
the movie was enough to garner dramatic readings by staff on the TODAY Show
and even comedic comments from the Mayor of Los Angeles. The plot
centers around a massive hurricane hitting the city of Los Angeles
engulfing sharks from the ocean into waterspouts that flood the streets
with shark-infested waters and also rain down on the city.
