Greater Morristown YMCA Receives Donation from Jersey Mike’s Subs
MORRISTOWN, N.J. ‑ The Greater Morristown YMCA received a generous donation of $8,888.84 from Jersey Mike’s Subs, a national sandwich franchise that started in New Jersey. The presentation was held at Collinsville Child Care Center in Morristown, which is managed by the Greater Morristown YMCA. The children sang “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” to thank the representatives present from Jersey Mike’s.
Jersey Mike’s raised $2.1 million for non-profit organizations nationwide during its March Month of Giving. Locally, Jersey Mike’s stores in Parsippany and Whippany, NJ partnered with the Greater Morristown YMCA to raise funds for its Annual Campaign, which provides financial assistance to children, families and seniors in the community. This and all donations to the YMCA go directly toward funding: summer camp scholarships, child care financial aid for working families, free swimming lessons for underprivileged youth and membership assistance for senior citizens, handicapped individuals and families in need.

During the month of March, customers were invited to come in to their local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and make a donation to a local designated charity partner. The campaign culminated in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 26, a daylong nationwide event when 100 percent of the day’s sales were donated to each local charity partner.
