Morristown Revolution Wins Championship Game

Sunday, October 27, 2013.  The Morristown Revolution, a local youth travel baseball team, defeated Forge Black, 8-7, to win the Championship Game of the Ridge Fall Baseball League - 12U Division in Basking Ridge, NJ.  Forge Black is a Northern New Jersey based team.  To get to the championship game the Revolution defeated the DVAA Bombers, 8-1, in the semi-final round earlier in the day.  The Bombers are from the Delaware Valley area.

In a nail biter championship game with several lead changes, the Revolution surrendered the lead to Forge Black in the top of the last inning.  However, staying true to the “bend but don't break” mentality that they exhibited all year, the Revolution stormed back in dramatic fashion scoring two runs with two outs in their last at bat for the walk off win.  "We knew going into the Fall season that we would be undermanned because multiple players were also participating in football.  It was the consummate team effort.  Everyone participated in the boys success.  I am very proud of their success!  They never quit as a team," said Revolution Manager, Dan Yarosz.

In winning the championship, the team capped a successful year.  In 2013, the Morristown Revolution finished with 18 wins and 7 losses in its spring and fall travel seasons.  The team was also a finalist in the Spring 2013 Off the Bench Sports league Championship Game. Over the summer, the players were members of their local little league all-star team and came within one victory of playing for a district championship.
