UPDATE: Locals Bike to Morris Plains for Meatless Monday

The ride left Drip Coffee on the Green at 6:30 p.m. and headed over to Carmel Haifa in Morris Plains.

About half a dozen bikers showed up with the nice weather to leave Drip Coffee around 6:30 p.m. on Monday night for a Meatless Monday ride.

Kendra Arnold, Co-Founder, Bike and Walk Morristown, said that they were hoping to do this regularly, at least through this month and that several others were joining them at Carmel Haifa, where the Meatless Monday ride ended.

The Meatless Monday ride is back. This event is hosted by Bike and Walk Morristown, which recently won bike corrals at Kings, according to unofficial results. On Monday, several residents and their bikes are meeting up at 6:30 p.m. outside Drip Coffee on the Green

They head over to Carmel Haifa in Morris Plains for "New Jersey's best falafel and hummus," according to the Facebook event

Meatless Monday is a non-profit initiative of The Monday Campaigns, in association with the Johns Hopkins’ Bloomberg School of Public Health. Their goal is to help communities reduce meat consumption by 15 percent in order to improve personal health and the health of the planet, according to its website.
