Mark Tobler's Giant Pumpkin
In honor of the Early Street Community Garden grower, who died Saturday at age 47.
In September 2011, following Hurricane Irene and all her fury, Mark Tobler, , and some friends got to work unearthing Tobler's masterpiece: A giant pumpkin.

But, this week proved that at least one good thing came from last month's storm. Or, at least, one big thing.
Mark Tobler, a gardener at the –with the assistance of friends, and recorded by Christian Schuller for posterity–harvested the estimated 400-pound beast this week and put it into cold storage, in hopes of having it for Halloween.
