Morristown Medical Center Named Top Hospital in NJ – Again

County's largest medical facility receives honor for fourth straight year.

For the fourth consecutive year, Morristown Medical Center has been ranked as the top hospital in New Jersey in its size category.

Morris County’s largest healthcare facility has 687 beds and was ranked by physicians as the top hospital with more than 350 beds in the state, according to a press release from Atlantic Health System.

Also in 2013, U.S. News & World Report ranked Morristown Medical Center as one of the top 50 hospitals in the country for cardiology, heart surgery and gynecology, the release said.

“Castle Connolly’s recognition of Morristown Medical Center as the top hospital in New Jersey for the fourth consecutive year is a testament to our dedication to providing superior patient care,” said David Shulkin, MD, president, Morristown Medical Center, vice president, Atlantic Health System in a statement. “We are proud that physicians have indicated Morristown Medical Center is their hospital of choice. They recognize that we not only provide our patients with the highest quality medical care, but also offer the latest preventive, diagnostic and treatment tools within a nurturing environment for patients and their families.”

More than 2,000 physicians from around New Jersey participated in the poll, which was distributed in the fall of 2013.
