On March 6 local community members of Morristown and surrounding towns will unite at a Kick Off Celebration to launch the 10th Anniversary Relay For Life season in Morristown!

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event in which participants celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember those we have lost and fight back against the disease.  Money raised through Relay For Life stays in Northwest NJ to fund research, education, advocacy and patient services.  Since 1985 Relay For Life has grown to more than 5,000 communities and over 25 countries worldwide. The Relay For Life of Morristown has raised over $990,000.  Funds brought in through this year’s event will bring the total to over $1 million to go toward the American Cancer Society’s mission of helping people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back.

On March 6 at the Side Bar at the Famished Frog in Morristown, dozens of families, caregivers, cancer survivors, schools, companies, local organizations and individuals will ring in the new season with a Kick Off Celebration and Appetizer Reception. Dessert has been donated by the Food Network’s Cupcake War’s winner, The Sweet Shop Bake Shop. Audience members will have the opportunity to hear from cancer survivors, American Cancer Society staff and Morristown’s Mayor Timothy Dougherty. This reception will educate people on Relay For Life, how to become involved, how to fundraise and how this event is helping to save lives from cancer.

All are welcome to come explore the benefits of forming a team, becoming a sponsor or attending the Relay For Life event. To RSVP or ask further questions, please contact Brandie at brandie.engelberger@cancer.org or 973.285.8029.
