Morristown Woman Elected to Literacy Board

LIteracy Volunteers of Union County trains and supervises more than 200 volunteer tutors who work one-to-one or in groups with functionally illiterate adults throughout the county and surrounding area

Literacy Volunteers of Union County, dedicated to providing free tutoring for adults struggling to read, write and speak English, has elected attorney Hollie Teslow of Morristown and accountant James Sosinski of Scotch Plains to its volunteer Board of Directors. 

Celebrating 26 years of service to the community, Literacy Volunteers recruits, trains and supervises more than 200 volunteer tutors who work one-to-one or in groups with functionally illiterate adults throughout Union County and the surrounding area.

Teslow, a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law and St. Olaf College in Minnesota, has been employed as the assistant general counsel at CR Bard, Inc. in Murray Hill since 2009.  Prior to this, she served as the senior counsel at International Specialty Products and Building Materials Corporation in Wayne, and corporate associate at Pitney Hardin LLP in Florham Park.

Admitted to the Bar in New Jersey, New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in 2001, Teslow served as Adjunct Professor – Legal Research and Writing for Seton Hall Law School.    

Passionate about literacy services, Teslow also works directly with students in need as a tutor with Literacy Volunteers of Morris County.  She also volunteers with the Junior League of Morristown.

James Sosinski is a managing partner for the accounting firm Praschak & Sosinski in Cranford.  Founded in 1990, the firm specializes in small to mid-size businesses.  He also is the Founder and Managing Director of By the Book, an outsource bookkeeping company, and the Chief Financial Officer for Manhattan International Group USA.
