Pair of Power Outages Plunge Morristown Into Darkness

Equipment failure to blame for Sunday snafu.

Nearly 1,500 customers lost power in Morristown Sunday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. according to officials at JCP&L. Equipment failure is being blamed for taking out the juice on Prospect Street, Washington Street Budd, Fairview, Center, Searing, Locust, Ellsworth, Fairmount, Mendham Road, Kahdena, and Burnham Park.

Customers on Prospect were told to expect power back around 9:30 p.m. while the rest of Morristown was expected to be restored by 10 p.m., officials said.
Isolated pockets on Western Avenue and Sussex restored by 10:30 p.m.
