Paving Shuts Down Franklin Street in Morristown

Residual traffic expected around Elm Street while road work is completed.

Resurfacing work closed Franklin Street at 7 a.m. Tuesday, and Thursday the thoroughfare will be closed until 2 p.m. as the paving work is completed, according to the Morristown Police.

The road, shut down from Elm Street to Ford Avenue, is expected to be reopened well before the evening commute, but the lunch rush in the downtown could be impacted by the residual traffic.

HINT: Maybe walk to the Swiss Chalet today.

Officials advise travelers to find an alternate route if "your normal course of travel involves Franklin Street."
