Art Around the Park Returns on Dec. 6

Free, self-guided arts tour runs from 5 to 8 p.m. in Morristown.

Have three months already passed? They must have, because the quarterly Art Around the Park event is set to return to Morristown on Dec. 6.

Join the and on Dec. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. and experience the work of established and emerging artists at Art Around the Park, Morristown’s quarterly celebration of the visual arts.

Art Around the Park features contemporary exhibitions at downtown galleries and alternative art venues located in proximity to Morristown’s historic Green including the Simon Gallery (48 Bank St.), the Gallery at 14 Maple (14 Maple Ave., also home to the Arts Council of the Morris Area), (10 Court Street, 2nd – 5th floors, also home to county Administration and Records), gallery space in (30 W. Park Place), Symphony Workplaces (4 Headquarters Plaza, North Tower, 3rd floor) and at the (3 Speedwell Ave.).

Simon Gallery will be featuring the second solo show of works by abstract artist Choichun Leung. Harry Simon also curated exhibits of works by Marie Vickerilla at Citibank, Janet Filomeno at Symphony Workplaces and Ilene Steglitz at Morristown Hyatt’s .

At the Arts Council of the Morris Area’s Gallery at 14 Maple, the public is invited to view the juried exhibit curated by Virginia Fabbri Butera (Director of the Therese Maloney Gallery and Chair of the Art/Music Depts. at the College of St. Elizabeth) titled Remembrance of Things Past, featuring 56 works by 50 New Jersey artists exploring the exhibit theme with works in media ranging from gum bichromate, ceramic, oil, acyrilic and fabric to steel and bronze and more.

Two hundred works by 39 artists fill four floors at the Atrium Gallery and include art by Isabelle Pizzano, The Power of Nine artists (Anne Winston Brown, Sandy Rech, Dail Fried, Alice Harrison, Valery Mankoff, Ruth Bauer Neustadter, Nancy Egol Nikkai and Ellen Reinkraut), , mobile artist John Tetz, 19 artists of Arts Unbound, watercolors and pastels by Mark and Maria de Mos and oils by surrealist painter David Derr.

A free shuttle bus will make the rounds to all six exhibits throughout the entire evening and the Hyatt’s Eclectic Grill will once again offer a prix fixe ($25) dinner for hungry gallery goers!

“The mission of Art Around the Park is pure and simple: create a reputation for Morristown as an art destination,” said Harry Simon, owner of the Simon Gallery on Bank Street.
