Enough Weekend Fun To Make Anyone Smile

We're your first, your last, your everything source.

By now, you should know Patch has got you covered when it comes to figuring out what to do this weekend. Whether it's catching the Bickford's production of "I Hate Hamlet" before it closes, learning about sustainable building at the proposed Morristown EcoCenter or going for a nature walk with the little ones, we're your first, your last, your everything source when it comes to planning your entertainment.


Where/When: There will be a special school-time performance on Thursday, May 19 at 10 a.m. as well as 8 p.m. performances on Friday and Saturday and a 2 p.m. performance on Sunday. All shows at the in Morris Township.
Why Go: Because you’ve been meaning to make it to the play all month, but know this is your last chance. Or, because you hate Hamlet, too!
Pricing: $40 for general admission, $36 for senior citizens, $33 for museum members, $20 for students.

Why Go: Because exhibitors will highlight green building products and services, focusing on healthy living, organic and local food production and sustainability.

Why Go: How often will getting a haircut help the American Cancer Society?
Pricing: There's a 15 percent discount for any service. Proceeds will be donated to the ACS.


Where/When: From 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday, May 20 at the .
Why Go: Because the proceeds will benefit the PAL Redhawks Football program, and there will be all-you-can-eat beefsteak, salad, ice cream, and salad.
Pricing: $35 per person.

Where/When: 8 p.m. at the in Chester on Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21.
Why Go: Because many local actors and actresses are performing in the play, which is described as a “film-noir”-like story.

Why Go: The chairman of the Executive Jewish Agency for Israel, Nathan Sharansky, will speak. There will also be a dessert reception.

Saturday, May 21 at the home and garden of Andrea Filippone (129 Pickle Road, Pottersville) from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go:
It's New Jersey's pre-eminent horticultural event. Shop for rare plants and garden antiques, attend a lecture, and help benefit the legacy of Leonard J. Buck Garden. Make sure you take time to smell the flowers.
Pricing:

Why Go: Because students can learn about the history of the farm, specifically how the Fosters and the farm residents communicated.

Why Go: Because there will be carnival games, food, and many more fun activities for the whole family.

Where/When: From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21 at  in Chatham.
Why Go: Because you like to wander and you like wildflowers, so why not enjoy both at the same time? Plus, the kids are welcome.
Pricing: $3.


Where/When: From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at Black River County Park in Chester Township.
Why Go: Because visitors will learn about early industries along the Black River while taking this 3.5 mile hike.
Pricing: $5 per family.


Where/When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at in Morristown on Saturday, May 21.
Why Go: Because you’re interested in textiles, want to check out a historic fabric presentation, or want to participate in some hands-on history lessons.
Pricing: $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens, or $2 for children.


Where/When: 2 p.m. at the Morris County Library in Whippany on Saturday, May 21.
Why Go: Because children ages three or older can hear some stories and make a craft.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: At 1:30 p.m. at the in Morristown on Sunday, May 22.
Why Go: Because the tale of Sleeping Beauty will told with narration, the music of Tchaikovsky and ballet.
