Christmas Eve at The Presbyterian Church in Morristown
The Presbyterian Church offers Christmas Eve services for everyone, and everyone is welcome! At 4 p.m., the children’s choirs lead an informal, interactive service, ideal for children, families and the young at heart. at 7 p.m., Rev. Dr. David Smazik asks “What Do You Say” at a candlelight service with lessons and carols by Cantate Omnes, the Chancel Choir and guest instrumentalists. The music includes Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Christmas Cantata and fresh arrangements of beloved Christmas carols. The Ringers-on-the-Green select high school bell choir offers a bell prelude at 6:30 p.m. At 11 p.m., following a bell prelude at 10:30 p.m. by the Ringers-on-the-Green select high school bell choir, Rev. Dr. David Smazik leads a service of traditional lessons and carols with the sermon, “What Do You Say?” The Chancel Choir, vocal soloists and special instrumentalists highlight the Christmas story scripture readings with inspiring music from around the world. The service concludes with the “Ringing in of Christmas Morn” by the Ringers-on-the-Green.
