Musical Grand Rounds - Acclaimed Jazz Pianist Fred Hersch at Morristown Medical Center
Highly-acclaimed jazz pianist Fred Hersch will hold a free performance at Morristown Medical Center and discuss music and medicine’s role in health care, including his own experience of living with HIV/AIDS, at the “Musical Grand Rounds."
The event will be held at the Malcolm Forbes Amphitheatre at Morristown Medical Center, 100 Madison Avenue, Morristown, NJ, from Noon-1:30pm.
Proclaimed by Vanity Fair magazine, “the most arrestingly innovative pianist in jazz over the last decade or so,” Hersch will highlight his 25-year journey with HIV/AIDS, including surviving a two-month coma in 2008, and will perform several pieces from his renowned production, “My Coma Dreams,” as well as several jazz standards.
