Sandy Forces Fountains of Wayne to Cancel Morristown Show

Nov. 1 concert axed because of Hurricane Sandy; makeup date being considered.

The fountain on the Green isn't the only one that's been turned off.

Fountains of Wayne, which was scheduled to perform Thursday at Mayo Performing Arts Center, has cancelled their appearance here "due to travelling conditions following Hurricane Sandy," MPAC General Manager Ed Kirchdoerffer said in a press release Wednesday.

"We are in the process of rescheduling for a future date and will be sending information once the new performance date has been decided," he said, adding that ticketholders are being asked to hold on to their tickets "until we have information about the rescheduled date.

"We are trying to contact ticket buyers, but please help spread the word as many may not have power," Kirchdoerffer said.
