Franklin Corners Resident Reprises 'Fantastick' Role

Actor J.C. Hoyt to open 20th season at the Women's Theater Co. in Parsippany in 'The Fantasticks!'

Morristown resident J.C. Hoyt, of the "Franklin Corners" neighborhood—and who played "The Old Actor" in the original off-Broadway production of "The Fantasticks"—will recreate the role in performances at the Parsippany Playhouse, Sept. 14 through Sept. 30.

The classic musical The Fantasticks! will open the 20th season at the Women’s Theater Co. in Parsippany. The Fantasticks!, which premiered in New York in 1960, is "a show for all ages and has proven to be a crowd pleaser that still hits all the right notes with its intimate setting, timeless fable of young love, and a classic musical score," according to a press release.

The cast of six includes Hoyt, who performed in the original Sullivan Street production in NYC. Others members of the cast include Marc G. Dalio (Broadway Beauty and the Beast; Miss Saigon); Lea Antolini-Lid (at WTC in The Last Five Years, CSC Christmas Carol and Oliver); Chelsea Rose Friedlander, Michael Restaino, Lynn Hart, Bridget Burke and Scott Tyler. The musical director is Warren Helms, choreography is directed by Meridith Johnson and Lea Antolinin.  The cast is directed by Barbara Krajkowski, also the founder and artistic director of The Women’s Theater Company.
