'Got Talent' Brings In $70K for Morris Educational Foundation

Event raises highest amount in seven-year history.

Their talent became the Morris Educational Foundation’s gain.

And it was a huge gain, at that.

After hosting the seventh annual Morristown’s Got Talent in February, the MEF tallied the total funds raised from the event, and reports more than $70,000 came in. That’s a 40-percent increase over last year, when $50,000 benefited the organization.

The five-figure total is the most ever raised in the event’s history, which had 16 acts perform in front of a nearly sold-out crowd at the Mayo Performing Arts Center.

First place went to Morristown High School’s Sara Dalpe, Valerie Bai, and Jordan Rabinowitz who comprise Band of Misfits. The group’s performance of “Feeling Good” garnered the grand prize of $1,000.
