MEMORIAL DAY PARADES:


When/Where:
 The Memorial Day festivities in Morris Plains start on Sat., May 28 with  a 9 a.m. Memorial Day service at Robert’s Garden, located on the corner of Glenbrook Road and Mountain Way. The parade starts out from the Garden at about 9:30 a.m.
Why go: 
A pair of F-16C fighter jets are schedule to perform a fly-over of the festivities, which is expected to occur at about 10:30 a.m..

Morris Township Memorial Day Parade
When/Where: The parade date is Monday, May 31 at 10 a.m., beginning at the Township of Morris Municipal Building and continuing to the Morristown Green for a ceremony. Morris Township Mayor Scott Rosenbush and Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty both will speak.
Why go: For the service honoring those who served in our country’s wars.
Pricing:  Free. 

GRAB & GO KIDS PLANNER 

Where/When: From 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at the . 
Why Go: Sing and dance to Broadway and pop music in this new group for children ages 8 to 12. The events culminate with a performance in June.
Pricing: Check with Madison YMCA website.

Where/When: From 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday and Saturday at  in Maplewood.
Why Go: Because children ages 2 to 4 are invited to play with paint, pinch and pound clay, make collages and explore art.
Pricing: $15 per child.

Where/When: From 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday at  in Chatham.
Why Go: Because children ages 6 to 11 can learn about turtles at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center.
Pricing: $3

Where/When: At 6 p.m. (ages 6 to 8) and 7 p.m. (ages 9 to 13) on Friday at  in Springfield.
Why Go: Because children ages 6-13 can learn the ins and outs of chess for free.
Pricing: Free

Where/When: From noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the  in Springfield.
Why Go: Kids ages 5 and older are invited to conduct experiments and observe the results. This week, kids get to make their own sidewalk chalk.
Pricing: $3 for non-members, and free for members.
