Student Film Fest Takes to Morristown High School's Big Screen

Cannes. Sundance. New York.

And now Morristown High School.

The school’s second annual film festival is ready to take to the screens on Friday, June 6, and will entertain the masses, along with a star-studded judging panel.

Thirty-five entries will be shown and judged by Robin Kampf, owner of RJK Media, a New Jersey-based media production company; Paul Tsakos, a 22-time Emmy Award winner with Fox Television videographer/producer; and Mark Ehrenkrantz, producer of the New York Film Critic’s Series.

Morristown’s event will end the school’s annual Art and Design Show, a weeklong exhibition of student artwork, photography and music.

The high school’s broadcasting teacher, Michael Butler, has overseen the production of the films, which had a theme of “Red” this year. Films include documentaries about AIDS to short films about young love.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, prizes have been furnished by Sandrian Camera and proceeds from the concession stand will go to the charity of the first place winner’s choice. The event is hoping to draw a wider audience from the Morristown area.

Showings will take place in the high school’s cafeteria from 6 to 10 p.m. on June 6.
